Location: Main Street between Broadway and E. 7th Ave, the laneways west of Main Street, 8th Ave to Quebec and the Easypark parking lot on &th Ave and Main Street.
The Mount Pleasant BIA is thrilled to be hosting our 5th annual Autumn Shift Festival & 4th annual Smoking Sausage BBQ Competition Cook-Off on Sunday September 14, 2014. From noon until 6 pm the community will come together to celebrate the change in seasons and the diversity and spirit that makes Mount Pleasant “Vancouver’s Coolest Neighbourhood”*
The MPBIA, in conjunction with Livable Laneways, The Beaumont Studios and Studio East, will create a unique festival that includes:
The Beaumont Studios Main Stage sponsored by the MPBIA, Breakfast Television and The Independent.
Booths from Mount Pleasant business and service providers that include: games, give-aways, demonstrations and fun stuff to buy.
Studio East Bazaar & Sound Stage – a European style bazaar in the lane west of Main Street between Broadway and 8th Ave that includes music from local musicians.
Livable Laneways Market & Stage – an eclectic market filled with local vendors in the lane west of Main Street between 8th and 7th Ave and a music stage behind Anti-Social Skateboards.
4th Annual Smoking Sausage BBQ Cook-Off – sponsored by COBS Bread and Frogbox, 6 local businesses create personalized sausage recipes to compete for your vote. Proceeds go to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
Heritage Lounge & Transportation Jamboree – sponsored by Easypark and Translink, this collection of vintage cars and buses from Vancouver’s past are teamed up with vendors and FREE PONY RIDES!
Best Bike Valet will be providing FREE service throughout the day.
Collection 45 – A collection of installation art and sculpture by local artists curated by the team that brought you The Drift on Main. Located at the new Collection 45 development on the north side of 8th Ave between Main Street and Quebec, the exhibition is designed to engage the community, inspire thoughtful use of urban spaces and celebrates the creativity and diversity of Mount Pleasant.
The Fox Cabaret will be previewing movies from their upcoming schedule throughout the day and showcasing the top 5 video from the MPBIA’s “My Mount Pleasant” Video Competition.
